"At The Rosy Road, our mission is to provide a warm and inclusive community for autistic and other neurodiverse families in New Canaan, CT and neighboring towns. Through thoughtfully created events and gatherings, we aim to develop a supportive and empowering environment where families can connect, share experiences, and build lasting relationships. Every family deserves opportunities and a place to thrive. With a focus on compassion, understanding, and respect for cognitive differences, we strive to build a space of joy and belonging, ensuring that every member feels valued and accepted. By traveling with these families on their unique journey, we will create a foundation of hope and inspiration, fostering a theme of love and togetherness on the rosy road of life."
The Rosy Road was created for families who are raising autistic children, as well as, neurodivergent children who share similar sensory, emotional and social challenges like ADHD, Sensory Processing, Gifted, Learning Disabilities, Developmental Disabilities, just to name a few. If you have a child with this profile and avoid going to restaurants, birthday parties, school and community events, museums, etc., this is the group for you.
We aim to provide thoughtfully created social gatherings that are appropriate for our children & their exceptional needs. In turn, these gatherings will hopefully give our families the opportunity to make connections with other families and build lasting, meaningful relationships.
Parents can join a monthly support group & other social gatherings to meet other families facing similar experiences. Professional speakers, authors , & service providers specializing in autism and neurodivergent supports will be presented. We will provide guidance to resources that parents are also seeking to help their children be successful & happy.
Part of being a support system for autism and neuordiverse families is being an educator on neuordiversity affirming practices and inclusion in our communities. We are offering the chance to work with local organizations to teach them about autism and other neurodivergent identities. Through understanding and acceptance of the neurodivergent community we can create inclusive spaces together.
